Born Again - February 7, 1956

Ye must be born the second time,
In order to enjoy;
Sweet fellowship with Christ the Lamb,
Who left heaven's employ;
And came to earth that we might have,
Redemption from all sin;
And thus we learn from God's good Book,
We must be born again.

No culture can suffice, my dear,
We must be born again;
That is God's plan and only one,
To save us from our sin.
The first born is a water birth,
Important, yes, indeed;
But still we need the Spirit's birth,
If we would heaven see.

By God's Spirit are we baptized,
Into the Christian life;
And by God's Spirit we thus gain,
Victory over strife.
And when the silver cord shall loose,
If faithful to the end;
Our souls shall leap with joy, my dear,
That we were born again.

Faith, Hope and Love - February 6, 1956

Photo by: Clint Mouser / Editing by: Lucrecia Mouser
"Now abideth faith, hope and love,"
But greatest of them all;
Is love, for God is love, you know,
He saves us from the fall.
O, faith, how wonderful thy works,
By faith we understand;
By faith great miracles are wrought,
As was in Canaan's land.

O, blessed hope, what would we do,
Without thy blessed aid?
When things seem dark and very blue,
You brighten up the day.
Yet greater is love, we are told,
And love shall never fail;
The floods may come, the winds may blow,
With mighty, mighty gales.

But love shall stand majesticly,
What e'er may be the test;
And now abides faith, hope and love,
But love is always best.
O, blessed love, our souls refresh,
Yea, make us pure and good;
Teach us how, by faith, hope and love,
To build a brotherhood.

No Sword Nor Spear - February 5, 1956

Photo by: Vinson Mouser
What can we say, what can we do,
To beat the swords and spears;
Into pruning hooks to bless,
And also to plowshares?
I think I know what we can do,
To help God in this fight;
We can abhor all evil here,
And walk in heaven's light.

A little love and kindness here,
A soul filled with good will;
Will help to turn the tide for good,
God's holy will fulfill.
No sword nor spear can find a place,
Where love is in control;
But plowshares and the pruning hook,
Can play a noble role.

Sin is the thing that causes man,
To use the sword and spear;
Therefore let us be diligent,
All sin to conquer here;
And when this task shall have been done,
Then swords and spears shall be;
Converted into instruments,
To bless humanity.

God's Power is Unlimited - February 4, 1956

Photo by: Kaia & Lucrecia Mouser
Come let us seek to understand,
The power of our God;
Who comforts all His children here,
With His staff and His rod.
He is a Shepherd kind and good,
And in the pastures green;
He feeds His sheep and waters them,
Within the quiet streams.

He makes our cups to overflow,
With joy, all glory be;
Unto the mighty God on high,
The One, expressed in Three.
God's power is unlimited,
And omniscient is He;
No need for us to live in sin,
For He can set us free.

Not only can He set us free,
But He can keep us dear;
From falling into sin's quagmire,
Where lust and greed appear.
God is the Husbandman we're told,
He purgeth everyone;
Who bears the fruit of love and joy,
Within His only Son.

All Who Wait Upon the Lord - February 3, 1956

Photo by: Lucrecia Mouser
Yea, all who wait upon the Lord,
Shall mount as eagles high;
Shall run and not be weary,
Shall feel God always nigh.
Their strength shall be renewed each day,
Their cup shall overflow;
And daily they shall be my friend,
A blessing here below.

To wait upon the Lord, aright,
Shall strength and wisdom give;
And furthermore it shall indeed,
Help us to nobly live.
The more we wait upon the Lord,
The better is our chance;
To overcome all evil here,
Our souls to bless, enhance.

Yea, all who wait upon the Lord,
Shall bear the fruit of love;
And furthermore shall gentle be,
As gentle as a dove.
And when the silver cord shall loose,
The golden bowl shall break;
No fears shall haunt our souls, my dear,
For God our souls shall take.

Heaven's Roll - February 2, 1956

They played the fool as many do,
They made a god of gold;
Their names were blotted out, we're told,
From heaven's record roll.
Sometimes the record which we keep,
Is not like heaven's Book;
For oft a man's name may appear,
Who is naught but a crook.

God's record is the one that counts,
For only those we're told;
Can enter through the pearly gates,
Whose names are on His roll.
God is the same, He changeth not,
Our names cannot appear;
Upon His Book if we endulge,
In sin while we are here.

Unto a woman deep in sin,
A message was conveighed;
Yea, "Go and sin no more," said He,
That is the only way;
That you and I can be secure,
Can know beyond a doubt;
Our names are written on God's Book,
And are not blotted out.

A Little Heaven Here - February 1, 1956

Photo by: Lucrecia Mouser
God planned that mother's arms should bear,
Her babe close to her breast;
And furthermore He planned that dad,
The little one would bless.
How great the tie to bind the home,
In blessed unity;
Great is the home of oneness here,
Where there is purity.

God planned that home should ever be,
A little heaven here;
Where peace and love would dominate,
And rule in every sphere.
Behold Christ stands at every door,
And seeks each home to bless;
And when a home is built by Him,
It stands each rugged test.

A little heaven here on earth,
That is the Father's plan;
And such shall be if we but build,
On Rock and not on sand.
A little heaven here on earth,
O, what a blessed thought;
And such can be our lot while here,
If home in God is wrought.
