The Husbandman is God, my
dear,
He purgeth everyone;
Who bears the fruit of
righteousness,
While dwelling in His Son.
How lovely and how beautiful,
The fruit of peace and joy;
The fruit of gentleness and
love,
We bear in God’s employ.
When we abide within the
Vine,
And fruitful branches be,
When consecrated by the One,
Who died on Calvary;
Then God the Father purified,
A blessed fact, my friend;
That you and I more fruit
might bear,
And overcome all sin.
The Savior prayed so
earnestly,
That all converts be pure;
And God shall answer his
request,
This one thing we are sure;
That all who dwell within the
Vine,
And dare good fruit to bear;
That God the Husbandman shall
purge,
Said souls, the Word
declares.
